NESTING PHOENIX QUILT 

The Nesting Phoenix quilt is the fifth design in the Constellations Series. This modern star quilt is inspired by the Phoenix Constellation. I used the peaks and valleys from the wings of the constellation to form the perimeter of the star. The octagonal shape and overlapping elements reminded me of twigs woven into a nest for our mythical phoenix to rest. Nesting Phoenix is a modern foundation paper pieced star quilt pattern.
